What is LANDesk?

LANDesk is CACI's corporate-wide application for keeping our computers up-to-date and reducing the risk of attack from viruses and other harmful software. Our Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team runs LANDesk on a regular basis to both update systems and apply security patches.

• Second Tuesday of the month - Microsoft releases monthly security patches.
• Tuesday through Friday - CIS tests the patches on various platforms and operating systems.
• First Sunday following patch release - Patching begins on CIS software development servers, Lotus Notes phase 1 servers and all workstations (starts on Wednesday during business hours for host computers).
• Second Sunday following patch release - Patching begins on CIS software production servers, Lotus Notes phase 2 servers.

Please note this schedule does not apply to servers outside of those specifically listed above. When you see the LANDesk window appear on your screen simply follow the instructions to complete the patch.
