(Windows XP attempts to automate the wireless configuration)
Right-click on My Network Places and select Properties.
Right-click on Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
Select Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings
(You’ll need to manually configure the network, as we do not broadcast the SSID)
Click Add
5. Select the Association tab
6. SSID = parkbench
7. Network Authentication = Open
8. Encryption = WEP
9. Key will be provided automatically
10. Select the Authentication tab
11. Check Enable IEEE 802.1x
12. EAP Type = PEAP
13. Uncheck Authenticate as Computer…
14. Click Properties
15. Click on Properties
16. Check Validate Server Certificate
17. Select CACI Root CA
18. Authentication Method = EAP-MSCHAPv2
19. Select Enable Fast Reconnect
20. Click Configure
21. Check that ‘Automatically use my Windows login…’ is checked (Otherwise, the user will be prompted to log in each time the key is dynamically changed)
22. Click OK
23. Click OK
24. Select the Connection tab
25. Verify that ‘Connect automatically…’ is checked
26. Click OK
27. Click OK
28. The Windows XP 802.1x supplicant is now configured for 802.1x authentication on the wireless adapter
