The previous version of WebET (version 3) included two different client applications. Those two versions have been replaced with a single client that is based on DHTML. The DHTML version doesn't require the installation of any additional software such as the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). This "Zero Install" version only requires that your workstation's browser is capable of executing JavaScript.
If you incorrectly enter your password more than five times during logon your account will be disabled. You will need to contact the ETAdmin in the event that your account is disabled.
The DHTML version is designed to work with both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. You must be using IE 5.5 or greater. Currently only Netscape 4.7 is supported. For those users who do not have IE5.5 or Netscape 4.7, CIS will continue to support the Mobile version of WebET. The Standard version of WebET will not longer be available.
The charge lookup feature has been redesigned. If the reference table (project strings, PLCs) you are using is large, only a 100 items are displayed at one time. You are able to page backward and forward through the table retrieving 100 records at a time. This approach eliminates the delays and freezing problems that users experience in earlier versions.
The process of entering timecard revisions has changed. A "Reverse Timesheet" item has been added to the "Options" menu to simplify the data entry task. The Revised Timecard section of this manual describes in detail the new procedure.
For managers the "Select Employees" screen has changed. Radio buttons for selecting "Primary" and "Secondary" staff has been replace with a scrolled area titled "Timesheet Groups". Each manager will have two groups "Direct" and "Other" that functionally replace the "Primary" and "Secondary" radio buttons, respectively. The Timesheet Approval section discusses the changes in detail.
Password can now be from 6 to 12 characters. In prior versions of WebET the application would allow you to enter a new password of up to 12 characters but would erroneously fail to recognize passwords of over 10 characters. This has been corrected.
The help file that is currently available on the CACINet is now built into WebET. Pressing the "?" on the right hand side of the tool bar will invoke a second browser window with CACI specific help.
A leave inquiry screen is now available as part of WebET. Employees can look up leave balance and review current period activity.
