When the Employee is Unavailable

A direct reporting manager may create or complete a timecard for an employee when an employee is unavailable on timesheet submission day. The direct reporting manager should use the following procedures:

  1. Click on the "Select Employee" toolbar button and choose the unavailable employee to access the timesheet;

  2. Fill out the employee's timesheet based on knowledge of the employee's work hours;

  3. Sign the timesheet using the "Sign" toolbar button. The timesheet should change to the "Signed" status.

  4. Notify the next manager in the employee's chain of command that the employee's timesheet needs approval.

The same person cannot sign and approve a timesheet.

  1. The next manager in the employee's chain of command accesses and approves the employee's timesheet, following the procedures in the Timesheet Approval section.
